Increasing awareness and understanding of attachment and trauma<\/p>\n

These sessions are split over two dates, attendees are expected to attend both dates (Session 2 here<\/a><\/u>). It\u2019s suitable for professionals working in the early years and primary education – e.g. SENCOs, inclusion leads, Designated Teachers for LAC\/PLAC, teachers, teaching assistants, key workers, and education support staff. Session delivered by Emma Spillane a qualified teacher, CCS adoptive parent and experienced trainer.<\/p>\n

The key principles and strategies covered within sessions can be beneficial for all students and staff (i.e. not limited to looked after or previously looked after children, though they will remain a key focus) and feel even more relevant to all due to the far-reaching impact of the very challenging past couple of years.<\/p>\n

Cost <\/strong><\/p>\n

Per delegate: \u00a3100 – This cost covers both dates and includes light refreshments (Pupil Premium\/ Pupil Premium Plus can be used to finance this course).<\/p>\n

Session 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

This first session will give an excellent grounding in the theory and science behind attachment and trauma, to help delegates to understand where the behaviours they see are coming from – that understanding then informs how we can best support vulnerable children to move from surviving to thriving at school.<\/p>\n

— Definitions of trauma and risk factors<\/p>\n

— The stress response and impact of trauma on brain development<\/p>\n

— The attachment cycle and attachment styles<\/p>\n

— Key attachment – & trauma-informed principles to take forward<\/p>\n
