{"id":1885,"date":"2022-04-12T14:37:01","date_gmt":"2022-04-12T13:37:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ccsadoption.org\/the-centre\/?post_type=mec-events&#038;p=1885"},"modified":"2025-10-30T12:43:31","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T12:43:31","slug":"christmas-in-the-woods","status":"publish","type":"mec-events","link":"https:\/\/www.ccsadoption.org\/adoption-support\/events-calendar\/christmas-in-the-woods\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas in the Woods"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*FULLY BOOKED*<\/p>\n<p>CCS parents and their children are invited to join us for this special appointment with Wild&#8217;n&#8217;Free, an experience of wild exploration and woodland adventure at <a href=\"https:\/\/willsbridgemill.com\/\"><u>Willsbridge Mill, Bristol<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinated by the CCS team, families will spend the morning together in the woods singing Christmas songs, making wreaths, cooking mince pies and telling a yule\/Christmas story. As well as the usual fun and games, free play and marshmallows. The sessions usually go ahead, whatever the weather (apart from very strong winds).<\/p>\n<p>We have a regular cohort who attend, and it&#8217;s clear from the feedback that children are benefitting from repeating their experience in the forest with their parents.<br \/>\nIt is also very supportive for parents as they can have a relaxed time with their children whilst getting extra support from the workers\/staff involved. Solo adopters or parents without their partners can also find it supportive to come along with their children, as there is extra help on hand to offer support during the different activities.<\/p>\n<p>We also welcome prospective adopters beyond stage 2 as volunteers.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><i>&#8220;<\/i>It was an amazing time for our child &#8211; great for him to spend time with other adopted children&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Booking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please be advised that this event is only available for adoptive families approved by CCS Adoption.
