
Education in Lockdown for Adopted Children 27th May
Method – Zoom call webinar based on discussion and questions sent in advance by participants.
Approach – using the psychological principles of therapeutic parenting and DDP and drawing on the experience of our education specialist to focus on the variety of reactions that adopted children are having to lockdown and the struggles with different aspects of home schooling that are being experienced by adoptive parents. Second session will focus on preparation and rehearsal for change to develop therapeutic parenting skills in supporting their children in transition back into schools and community as lock down measures are lifted.
Facilitators – Andrew Lister, Clinical Psychologist, Dr Jude Courtney, Clinical Psychologist, Emma Spillane, Associate Trainer in Attachment and Trauma for Education.
