Life Story Workshop

Life Story Workshop

Helping adopted children understand their stories can often be a challenge for parents. Life story work takes many formats from books to later-life letters, memory boxes and longer-term therapeutic support and it can be daunting to navigate and know-how, when and what to access. This online workshop and webinar will explore how ongoing life story work contributes to children’s and young people’s understanding of their past, present and future and give adopters some tools and ideas to help them support their children through this journey.

This online workshop is aimed at adopters with some familiarity already about what life story work is and why it is important, and ideally with a child, or children already with them. We will be looking at practical exercises you can try with your child such as creating safety and telling difficult stories, as well as thinking about how to look after yourself whilst engaging in this emotional topic.

Please contact us at info@adoptionsupportcentre.org to book your place. You will then be emailed a zoom link, an agenda and some resources for the day.
