Writing Competition Winners – S.O.
In Autumn 2019 we held a writing competition for adopted young people on the theme This Is Me. We had some wonderful entries that were judged by our team and Miles Chambers, Bristol’s first poet laureate. Over the coming few weeks, we will be publishing the winners so do watch this space and read them all.
Who I am
“I like my friends, I love my family
I like my looks, I love my fashion
I don’t like when people say I can’t do it,
I like when people say I can do it
This is me
I have my mum, dad and brother,
They support me, they care for me,
They are there when I need them
The most
This is my family
I have friends that I hang out with
I have family that I can spend time with
I have toys to give me joy
These are the most important
Things for me
I am sometimes sad, sitting alone
In my dark, gloomy room with the
Dim glowing light from a crack in
My curtain
Then come the morning I am
Joyous again”
By S.O., aged 11.
