HorseWorld – Discovery Programme
In collaboration with HorseWorld, CCS will bring children together with rescued horses. This course consists of 1 1/2 hour sessions every Friday for 6 weeks, and it is planned for different age ranges.
About Discovery
Discovery Programme enhances emotional well-being and life skills through a tailored learning programme that brings children and teenagers together with gentle rescued horses. It is carefully designed with outdoor activities with horses, boosting confidence, emotional well-being and transferrable skills. The horses give the students a sense of responsibility, with rules that have clear purpose and consequences, producing rewarding emotional connections in return. Download here the Discovery leaflet.
Discovery is recognised as an alternative education provider for Bristol and the surrounding areas. Its programme boosts the confidence, emotional well-being and life chances of disadvantaged and vulnerable young people through an innovative learning course that brings them together with gentle rescued horses. Discovery is part of HorseWorld, a charity dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned, neglected and mistreated horses, ponies and donkeys. Read here for more information about Discovery.

My daughter can’t wait to get to HorseWorld and talks of little else all week.
School was really supportive of my child joining this programme.
The staff at HorseWorld understand and are so attentive to the needs of my child.
[My daughter] had a fantastic time and completely loved caring for the horses and spending time with them and the lovely grown-ups at Discovery. [She] was well-supported and grew in confidence during the sessions.
[She is] now desperate to do more. [She gained] confidence to look after an animal with help. Enjoyment and a sense of being able to do something special, which the other children at school were not able to do. Friendship with the other children in the group.
