
SWAC Best Practice Meetings
The SWAC Project Lead runs several Best Practice Meetings for practitioners in member adoption agencies every 2 months. There are separate meetings for recruitment and assessment workers, those working in adoption support, family finders, panel administrators, intermediary and access to adoption records workers, panel chairs, panel advisers, and those supporting birth relatives.
The meetings are held virtually and provide safe reflective spaces for practitioners in similar roles in different adoption agencies across the South West to discuss common issues and to share good practices and dilemmas.
Annual Joint Panel Chairs and Advisers
One of the topics will be the use of Artificial Intelligence in panel work, with a panel adviser from a London agency joining us to talk about how they already use AI in their panel.

The SWAC medical advisers organise and run their own meetings 3 times a year.
