Social Work Support

Our Social Workers and Family Support Workers play a crucial role in assisting CCS adoptive families with tailored support that meets their unique needs. Our dedicated team has worked with adopters, adopted children and young people over the years on a range of issues.

The CCS’s Social Work service works with families through assessment, family finding, early days of parenting and over the years as your children grow up. As you go through the training and assessment stages, you will hear how this specialist team can offer advice and support on issues such as education, life story work and emotional behavioural wellbeing.

The Social Workers and Family Support Workers assist CCS families by providing both in-person and online support, information and resources available in the region. As an organisation, we also provide therapeutic services, training and workshops, and connect and facilitate peer-to-peer support through our activities and social events for families.

If your family is in need of support, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Adoption Support Coordinator at support@ccsadoption.org. For more information, read below.

Adoption Support Enquiry

You can request support by phoning us at 0117 935 0005 or by emailing support@ccsadoption.org.

Our Adoption Support Coordinator will get back to you promptly and set up a call. The Coordinator will listen to your adoption support enquiry and needs, and will provide you with information, advice and the next steps.

If after speaking with the Adoption Support Coordinator, you are allocated a Social Worker or Family Support Worker, they will get in touch with you within 3 days (24 hrs if the matter is urgent).

Together, you will create a Post Adoption Support Plan to meet your family’s current adoption support needs. This may include a maximum of 4 sessions with the Social Worker/Family Support Worker, and arrange other options.

The Social Worker/Family Support Worker will complete a full Assessment of Needs with you regarding your family’s ongoing adoption support needs. The support package will then be reviewed regularly.
