Family & Friends

This training gives family and friends an insight into the impact that trauma and insecure attachments can have on a vulnerable child. We consider children’s identities, experiences, losses and needs, and therefore how crucial therapeutic parenting is. We help prepare family and friends for their first meeting with their new family member, manage expectations and broaden understanding of the support required for all. Sessions are held online via Zoom.

— If you are a prospective adopter with CCS Adoption, training is free of charge. Your social worker will discuss relevant training dates with you and will book these on your behalf.

— If you are currently going through an adoption assessment with another agency, please discuss your training requirements with your social worker. They will need to confirm with CCS that you are currently in assessment before booking training. Once this has been done, you will be able to book and pay for training via Eventbee by clicking on the date below:
