When you are exploring adoption, you will discover that you have a choice about which agency you can use depending on where you live in the UK. Either your regional adoption agency or a voluntary adoption agency like ours here at CCS.
We work with most families who live in these areas: Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire.
We encourage you to explore and find the agency that suits you the best. But here’s why we think you should consider us.

Finding families for children who need them since 1904
We’re one of the largest Voluntary Adoption Agencies in the South West and find homes for around 20 children every year.

Therapy
We provide a multi-disciplinary, therapy service with professional clinical assessments and therapeutic support for our adoptive families. With funding through the Adoption Support Fund, we are able to create individual, bespoke packages of support wherever they are needed by our families.

Voluntary Adoption Agency
We are one of about 30 Voluntary Adoption Agencies working alongside RAAs to find families for the children who wait. Working together means we can access a larger pool of children from around the country to ensure we match the right child or children with the right family.
What's a VAA?
We are a Charity
We are a registered charity. We are funded by local authority fees to find families for children who need them, and some therapeutic interventions are funded by the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund. However, much of the ongoing support given to adoptive families or adoptees is not statutorily funded, we need to fundraise vital charitable funds to continue to provide that lifelong support.
Support Us
Many of us have lives touched by Adoption
Several members of our team have adopted themselves, so have been where you are now and know how it feels. You can talk to them to explore your questions about the adoption process and work out if adopting might be for you.
