When you are exploring adoption you will discover that you have a choice about which agency you can use depending on where you live in the UK. Either your local authority, or regional adoption agency, or a voluntary adoption agency like us here at CCS.
We work with families living within about an hour’s distance of our office across the Adoption West and South West areas in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset, Swindon, Wiltshire and South Wales.
We encourage you to explore and find the agency that suits you the best. But here’s why we think you should consider us.
Finding families for children who need them since 1904
Since 1904 we have found new homes for over 2,300 children. We’re one of the largest voluntary adoption agencies in the South West and find homes for over 30 children every year. Our social workers have over 250 years’ experience of adoption between them.Book an Information Evening
Ofsted "Outstanding" agency
Rated as “Outstanding” by Ofsted four times in the last eleven years and with so many of our adopters happy to recommend us too, we are confident that you would receive a warm welcome and professional service from our friendly team. “Such amazing support before, during and after adoption.” CCSAdopterEnquire about adoption
We promise to provide our families as much support as they need for as long as they need, whether that’s a listening ear, or working to provide a package of therapy. Through The Centre we offer a wide range of activities that connect and support adoptive families.Visit The Centre
Since 2017 we have built a multi-disciplinary, in-house therapy service to provide professional clinical assessments and therapeutic support for our adoptive families. With funding through the Adoption Support Fund we are able to create individual, bespoke packages of support wherever they are needed by our families.Visit Our Therapy Service
Voluntary adoption agency and charity
Which means that we are one of about 30 agencies who work alongside local authorities and regional adoption agencies around the country to find families for the children who wait. We can access a larger pool of possible children for you from around the country to make sure that we match the right child with the right family.Download our Information Pack
Many of us have lives touched by adoption
Several members of our advice team have adopted themselves, so have been where you are now and know how it feels. You can talk to them to explore your questions about the process and concerns about what it might be like to adopt and to work out if adopting might be for you.Talk with an adopter
