Together We Grow

Great news! Our ‘Together We Grow‘ campaign has launched and will run throughout the school summer holidays. With more adopters joining us at CCS, we’re expanding our adoption support, and we need your help to grow with us. We’re inviting families, friends, and our supporters to come together and fundraise to help us grow our support services. We are hoping you and your family will get involved. Start planning your fundraiser now. Your fundraising can take place at any time during the school summer holidays.

Ideas include growing plants, bike rides, sponsored walks or runs, or simply coming together to make a difference. Please get in touch with Sarah Yelland, our Business Development Manager at fundraising@ccsadoption.org, to share your idea or seek further inspiration. We’d be delighted to hear your stories and receive your shareable photographs.

Together We Grow–Themed Fundraising Ideas

🌼 Growth-Inspired Activities

— Plant & Paint Day – Host a community event where families decorate plant pots and plant seeds together.

— Sunflower Challenge – See who can grow the tallest sunflower by the end of summer.

— “Grow Your Goal” Jar – Set a fundraising target and fill a jar with coins or notes as your donations grow.

🧁 Classic & Creative Fundraisers

— Bake Sale with a Twist – Sell garden-themed treats like flower cupcakes or “mud pie” brownies.

— Picnic in the Park – Invite friends and family to a bring-your-own picnic with games and a donation station.

— Garden Party or BBQ – Host a summer social with music, food, and fundraising games.

— Sponsored Walk, Run, or Cycle – Choose a scenic route and get sponsored per mile.

— Nature Scavenger Hunt – Organise a family-friendly hunt in a local park with a small entry fee.

— “Miles for Families” Challenge – Set a collective distance goal and track your progress together.

🎨 Creative & Community-Based

— Art for Growth – Host a mini exhibition or auction of children’s or local artists’ work themed around growth and family.

— Storytime Fundraiser – Host a reading event with books about growth, family, and belonging.

— Together We Grow Mural – Create a collaborative artwork where each donation adds a leaf, flower, or name.

Keep It Safe & Legal – A Quick Guide

We want your fundraising to be fun, successful, and safe for everyone involved. Here are a few important things to keep in mind:

— Get Permission – If you’re using a public space, check with your local council or the property owner.

— Photos & Privacy – Let people know if you’re taking photos and get their consent before sharing.

— First Aid – For larger or active events, consider having basic first aid support available.

— Insurance – If your event is open to the public, check if Public Liability Insurance is needed. Many venues already have this.

— Food Safety – Follow Food Standards Agency guidelines if you’re preparing or serving food.

— Under 18? – You’ll need permission from a parent or guardian to take part in fundraising.

— Handling Personal Data – If you’re collecting names or contact details, make sure you’re following data protection rules. Learn more here.
