CCS Adoption’s Statement on The Murder of Preston Davey

CCS is deeply saddened and appalled by the murder of baby Preston Davey and the abuse he suffered at the hands of those entrusted to care for him.

Our thoughts are with Preston’s family and all those affected by this devastating case.

Safeguarding children is central to everything we do. Alongside adoption and childcare organisations across the sector, we will carefully consider the findings and recommendations arising from the Child Safeguarding Practice Review currently underway. We remain committed to continually reviewing, strengthening and improving our practice wherever necessary to help keep children safe.

CCS has proudly supported LGBTQ+ adopters for many years. Countless LGBTQ+ individuals and couples provide safe, stable, and loving homes for children, transforming lives through adoption. We stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and reject any attempt to associate this tragic case with a person’s sexuality.
