Autumn Update from CCS

Autumn Update from CCS

Hello all adopters and CCS supporters,

Our adopters, staff and volunteers have been continuing to meet up at a range of activities this month. This includes Wild ‘n’ Free, which happened just today, and our ever-popular Family Funday, where everyone enjoyed some fruit kebab making and whittling. I’m really pleased to see the return of our Mums Social, who enjoyed a curry and catch-up together at our new venue The Park. Our Tots Groups are settling into their new days of Mondays and Thursdays, and the little ones have been enjoying the wall of mirrors and visiting some animals that live in the room next door. The Boxing Therapy Programme with Empire Fighting Chance continues on Saturdays for 10-14-year-olds, and the LGBTQ+ Coffee Mornings are exploring the new space at Youth Moves. Last but not least the STEP Group (for Early Permanence Carers) will be meeting online on the 31st. Well, that’s just the activities for October!

Since CCS left our old building Pennywell Road in June, we’ve been settling into our new office space at The Park, and all the Adoption Support services have been exploring their new spaces too. I’m pleased to let you know that the sale of Pennywell Road has gone through and the trustees are looking at how to best safeguard the funds for the long-term security of the charity. Talking of long, CCS will be 120 years old next year so please watch this space for celebrations and events in 2024.

I’m a little early, but maybe after Halloween, we can get into Christmas preparations in earnest. So, for now, I just want to let you know that CCS’s Christmas Cards are now on sale, and we’d hugely appreciate your support by ordering a few or if you would prefer some E-cards are also available. Our Christmas Fayre is also in the diary for 9th December, so it will be lovely to see you all there and have fun together whilst raising funds for the Adoption Support services.Kind Regards,
