Therapeutic Parenting 2

This training is for prospective adoptive parents who have been linked with a child; the session is presented with that child in mind. We discuss the impact of separation and loss, as well as the impact of shame on their child’s view of themselves, their identity and the world. We consider what can help reduce their child’s anxiety in those early months and beyond, and discuss opportunities to build trust and to connect with the child through play and therapeutic parenting.

Sessions are held either at The Park Centre, Knowle, Bristol, or online via Zoom.
