‘What Makes A Mum?’ By Not A Fictional Mum
CCS Adoption is proud to be one of the sponsors of the incredible work of Not A Fictional Mum, a careleaver and adoptive mom. We believe that supporting her book ‘What Makes a Mum?’ will help raise awareness about adoption experiences like hers and inspire more people to consider adoption for the many children still waiting for a loving home.
Her autobiographical book aims to be an honest, humorously poignant, and relatable memoir about motherhood, advocating for equal rights for all families.
‘What Makes a Mum?’ is a less conventional journey of being mothered and reaching motherhood, from teenage foster care, struggling with infertility and navigating the adoption process. Not A Fictional Mum reveals the policies and statistics that led her to campaign for change, and what emerges is a picture of resilience, determination and hope.
