Covid 19 Crisis Appeal
Following government advice, our building is temporarily closed, however, our adoptive families still need our support. We are asking for your help so that we can be there for the vulnerable children and families who rely on us, during the pandemic and beyond.
For adopted children who have experienced trauma, neglect or abuse, the echoes, – feelings of insecurity, fear, and anxiety – will be amplified by the isolation and uncertainty around Coronavirus, causing acute emotional distress. Adoptive parents, struggling to cope with the challenges of parenting a traumatised child, or teenager in lockdown will also be feeling stressed, putting family relationships under huge pressure. More adoptions will be at risk of breaking down. Adoptive families – particularly those in the early stages of a placement – need specialist support to recover from trauma, build attachment, and form strong bonds so that the adoption can succeed.
CCS provides that support for children and families, from the beginning of the adoption journey, for as long as it’s needed. Whilst our regular group activities for children and parents are suspended, our amazing team are continuing to support our families remotely, offering one-to-one phone support, and virtual group activities by video-link, advice and resources. At the same time, we expect our income to be significantly reduced, putting these vital services under threat.
Please help us to be there for our adoptive families now and in the future.
Thank you,
The CEO of CCS Adoption
